Though a graphic designer by trade, I tend to explore all avenues of art.
My pieces often combine multiple mediums, whether it’s a hand drawn portrait with graphic design elements or a graphic design piece finished through traditional printmaking techniques. Similar to my selection of mediums, I explore a diverse range of themes including, self-identification, portraiture, discovery, and science. I draw inspiration from artists such as Francoise Neilly and Rembrandt, as well as photographers such as Diane Arbus and Annie Leibovitz. The subject matter that these artists chose, circumvents social expectation; a trait that I try to achieve in my pieces. In the end, my work is about illuminating a theme that would otherwise remain unseen.
